Abstract

Objectives: The aim of this study is to explore the baPWV distribution status and its risk factors in a communication-based population. Methods: We investigated 2191 local residents who were older than 30 years in Shanghai. BaPWV were measured to show arterial elastic and stiffness at present. The x2 trend test was used to compare the baPWV abnormal rate in different age group;Multiple linear regressions were conducted to explore the risk factors of abnormal baPWV. Results: The mean age and standard deviation(SD) are 45.35 and 8.27 years. Male group has a higher BMI (t=17.24, P<0.05). There were significant difference between male (13.30%) and female (4.37%) participants on bapwv abnormal rate. In multiple linear regression analysis, SBP, age, heart rate(HR), glucose, body mass index(BMI) and uric acid(UA) entered into the final model. Conclusions: baPWV abnormal rate was 10.22% in ≥30 years group in Shanghai. The linear regression model showed age, SBP,HR, BMI ,FPG and UA were risk factors for the increasing in the baPWV value.
